    Faith, Family & Music contains stories, pictures, and local history of multiple generations of the Ed and Irene (Lamie) Fleis family.  The story begins in the early 1870's when Polish and French-Canadian ancestors journeyed to Centerville Township in Leelanau County, Michigan, where they homesteaded and raised their families.  The main focus is our parents' lives, the raising of their twelve children... and musical history, all blessed by faith.  Their children's biographies complete the 150-year span that ends in 2023.

About the author:

Ruth Ann (Fleis) Smith, a mother of nine, (a grandma and a great-grandma), resides in Suttons Bay, Michigan.  Her hometown was Cedar, Michigan for 50 years.  She is the oldest of the twelve Fleis siblings.  She loves to play the piano or accordion, and on occasion, teaches folk dances to youngsters.  She is thankful to God for her faith and inspiration, a strong family bond, wonderful friends, and a lasting gift of music.
